Elginburg Eagle News
Elginburg & District Public School - March 30th
Grade 8 Graduation Plans
Grade 8 Graduation will be on Wednesday, June 16th with a Rain Date of Thursday, June 17th.
It will be an OUTDOOR ceremony. Each graduate will be allowed to bring 2 guests as of today's rules; this could change.
Graduation photos will be taken but the company has not given us a date, yet! We are working hard to secure a date.
All of these plans must be flexible due to COVID 19. We may have to revise them over the next few months depending on what guidelines the Health Unit put out and what "colour" our area is in June. Regardless, we will make it work!
ASYMPTOMATIC COVID TESTING AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS
Students are invited to participate in voluntary asymptomatic testing (no symptoms) for COVID-19 during designated times.
Families must book appointments for students using the assessment centre’s existing booking process (online or by telephone). Walk-ins are not permitted.
Parent/guardian consent is required for testing of students under the age of 18. This testing is only for students, staff and bus drivers who DO NOT have COVID-19 symptoms. Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 must self-isolate and get tested for COVID-19 at a Community Assessment Centre. Learn more and review the schedule for your student's school at https://bit.ly/LDSBAsymptomaticTesting

Dress For Success in our Muddy/Wet Yard
Playing in water and mud is a part of childhood! Learning from play is an extremely important part of growing up! We embrace their curiosity and innovation.
If your child hates wet pants or feet, please send an extra pair of socks and pants. Tall rubber boots are also a great way to keep their feet dry!
We apologize for the extra work the mess at the end of the day creates at home!
End of Day Safety
I encourage you to send your child on the bus, as it helps with traffic congestion.
We are asking that you use the traffic lights on Sydenham road to cross the street or hold your child's hand.
The Police have been in front of the school giving out tickets several days a week. We are still working on a more permanent solution.
