The food drive for the Loaves and Fishes food pantry has been extended until Friday, November 18th. We will continue to accept non perishable and canned food donations. Please help us to restock the food pantry. Donations can be sent in with your student or brought into the front office. Please make sure to label the bag with your student's team number. SMCPS is encouraging all parents/guardians to please take the time to access and complete the Impact Aid Survey Form online, located in the Home Access Center (HAC). Once logged in, directions to access the online form can be found HERE. A video with instructions is available HERE. The form can now be accessed in Spanish by clicking on the Globe in the top right-hand corner once the form has been started. The deadline for the online submission of Impact Aid Program Survey forms is November 14, 2022.

Dear LMS Parents,

On November 16th our school will be participating in the Maryland Youth Risk Behavior Survey and Youth Tobacco Survey. Sixteen random classrooms have been selected to participate at LMS during their second period class. The survey is designed to collect comprehensive data from students in grades 6-12 on risk behaviors. Students in selected classrooms have been provided opt out forms for parents to sign and return to school if you do not wish for your child to participate. If you decide to opt out, please check with your student for their form, and return it as soon as possible prior to November 16th 2022.

Dear LMS Families:

As the holiday season quickly approaches, we would like to aid those families in need. This year, we will be providing families with Wal-Mart and Target gift cards. We are requesting that the minimum amount on each gift card is $10. Below is a form to return to any of the counselors at LMS, via email, to either donate to a family in need or indicate if your family needs assistance this holiday season. All names will be kept confidential. We will accept gift card donations through Friday, December 9th. Families can pick up the gift cards from the main office on Thursday, December 15th from 8:00-2:00. Any questions or concerns, please call your grade level counselor. Please email the form below or call with the information needed by Monday, December 5th. Please see your child’s grade level counselor’s email and phone extension are below.

It's that time of year again! The Jingle Bell run will take place on December 10 and Leonardtown Middle has a team participating in the event! In the past, our team has been one of the top fundraisers for this 5k and fun run that benefits the Arthritis Foundation. This is a community event and runners and walkers are encouraged to dress in their holiday gear and bring their dogs and kids in strollers and enjoy scenic Solomon's Island. Dear Leonardtown Middle School Families,

September 8th marked the 100th day before National Wreaths Across America Day, December 17, 2022. Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, wreath-laying is carried out at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 1,600 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad. The Maryland Veterans’ Cemetery in Cheltenham is one of the additional locations where wreath laying honoring our country’s fallen heroes takes place. There are over 28,000 gravesites, of which more than half go without a remembrance wreath each year.

Leonardtown Middle School is an official sponsorship group (MD0402P) again this year. Our goal is to sponsor 250 wreaths. You can help us reach this goal by sponsoring one or more wreaths that will go directly to the cemetery in Cheltenham. One wreath sponsorship is only $15.00. There are many options available. By sponsoring a wreath, you can help to REMEMBER AND HONOR the American heroes that served. Sponsorship can be done directly by going to the link below.
