Early Release Mondays

Each Monday is an Early Release day. Your child is released at 12:55 PM. Parents, please set a reminder on your phone or smartwatch to remember these days--It's easy to get busy and forget.

This is an online event.

Your child's teacher will contact you to schedule the virtual conference (Zoom). Please mark your calendar for this evening. We look forward to discussing your child's academic progress.

School Advisory Council (SAC)

The purpose of the SAC is to assist the principal and staff in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the School Improvement Plan (SIP) -- required in accountability legislation. SAC meetings are open to the entire school staff, parents, and community. These attendees may participate in the discussion of topics. However, only the SAC members can vote on SAC items.

This year, SAC meetings will be held virtually via Zoom.

Back to School Highlights

Middle School Choice Application Opens Soon

Parents or guardians of fifth-grade students, please be aware that the application for school choice opens November 2nd and closes December 11th. Your child's neighborhood school assignment for middle school is McLane. Students do NOT need to apply for choice for the assigned neighborhood school. Families who are electing to attend another school for magnet programs or other programs will need to apply for choice.

Report Cards are only available online. Parents and guardians can prepare now by visiting

Quarter 1 Report Card Distribution will be Monday, November 16th.

ESOL - English Language Learners

Parent Leadership Council (PLC)

Hello Families! One of the District's primary goals is to strengthen the involvement of parents in the education of their children. To give Mintz parents of English Language Learners (ELLs) an opportunity to understand and actively participate in the education process, our school is organizing a Parent Leadership Council (PLC) meeting on Thursday, October 15th from 5:30-6:30 via Zoom (information will be sent home next week with details).

Hola Familias! Uno de los objetivos principales del Distrito es fortalecer la participación de los padres en la educación de sus hijos. Para dar a los padres de Mintz de Estudiantes de Idioma Inglés (ELLs) la oportunidad de entender y participar activamente en el proceso de educación, nuestra escuela está organizando una reunión del Consejo de Liderazgo para Padres (PLC) el jueves 15 de octubre de 5:30-6:30 a través de Zoom (información será enviada a casa la próxima semana con detalles).

Book Fair- Virtual

Our fall Follett Book Fair will be happening online this fall! Ms. Howell is very excited that we will still have an opportunity to shop for books and raise money for reading programs that will be happening at Mintz for both eLearners and face-to-face classrooms. Watch for details to come and thank you for your support!

Top Readers will receive great prizes! Challenge will be posted by October 12th

Hispanic Heritage Month Bookmark Contest

Hispanic Heritage Month is going on now! We are celebrating Hillsborough’s History and Culture from September 15th – October 15th Please consider entering the countywide Hispanic Heritage Bookmark contest. Winners will be chosen at the K-2 grade levels, as well as the 3-5 grade levels. See attached for more information.
