Introducing...
Mary Olzawski
Most people know that I am a Library Media Specialist working at two elementary campuses for the Castleberry Independent School District in Fort Worth, Texas. So they righly assume that I love books.....all kinds of books. But they may not know about my other interests. In addition to reading, I love to travel. California, New Mexico, Arizona,Nevada, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C. and Europe are places I have visited. When I was little, my Grandma Olzawski taught me how to embroider. It is something I still enjoy doing, and I often embroider bibs for the new babies that come to my family.I also love to cook and have a great collection of cookbooks. One of my most treasured kitchen tools is the Pizzelle Iron my Nonna Carini gave to me. She held that iron over the ring on her electric stove, turning it every 20 - 30 seconds so the cookies were perfect, and baked many batches of Pizzelles, a special Italian cookie, for Christmas over the years. Even though I use an electric Pizzelle baker these days, I look at her old iron and think about my Nonna making pizzelles for two or three days to make sure there would be enough for our Christmas holidays.
