2020/21 School Year Information
Current Planning
TVUSD's 2020/21 school year is scheduled to begin on August 12, 2020. The effect of COVID19 is a fluid situation statewide and as we have seen, news and guidance may change from one day to the next. Decisions to change student calendars are not made in haste. These decisions are made with many local considerations such as teacher and parent input, student health and safety, staffing requirements, budget considerations, state educational and instructional mandates. Health officials have reiterated, COVID19 is not going away anytime soon, and TVUSD is developing several models of learning that are adaptable and provide options for students/families that will adhere to guidelines established by the state and county authorities. We want to thank the 7,000 TVUSD families who provided feedback to our interest survey. Your input is extremely valuable in helping us as we review plans and options. Our 2020/21 learning model will ultimately be designed and guided in alignment with future state and fiscal mandates. As more guidance is provided to districts across California, we commit to providing specific information on what the re-opening of schools will look like. We do not yet have a firm timeline for when we will receive the parameters and be able to finalize our delivery models.Current State/County Guidelines/Orders
- All K-12 schools are closed through June 19, 2020, per County of Riverside Order.
- Governor Newsom has established a 4-phase reopening plan for California. We are currently at the beginning of Stage 2.
We know that there continues to be confusion between the various orders, guidelines, and agencies. They also continue to change frequently. We will continue to keep you apprised as we receive guidance.
Additionally, the City of Temecula continues to share updates that are very helpful to our local community. You can view those updates here.
