A Note From the Principal
The Winter Dance last night was a huge success, with over 600 students in attendance! Music, a disco ball, great food from Stonefire to pizza (surprisingly more popular than Stonefire's Tri-tip!), and a fantastic photo station. We hope your student had a blast if they joined us! Thank you to our families for your prompt pick-up. Kudos to Ms. Ng, our ASB Advisor, and our hard-working ASB students who made it such a great event!
I want to give a big shout-out to our Rio Robotics Team who had an incredible first showing in November at their first ever Lego League Challenge Competition. Please read below for details as we need help funding this fantastic group of kids to continue their quest! We are also looking for a corporate sponsor moving forward, so please contact me if you or your company might be able to help us.
Our River Hawk Choir had the joy of joining the amazing Valencia High School Choir for a festive night of wonderful music. Families were blown away by their professionalism and talent! Such a fun night!
Read on for our SCV Reflections winners, our PTSA CPK Fundraiser this Wednesday night, COC's Winter Institute for Jr. High students, and mental health resources over the winter break. PTSA is also requesting parent help for the annual winter staff appreciation breakfast this Friday. See the sign-up genius link below.
It's hard to believe we're almost there, but next week brings the end of Quarter 2 and the first semester. Most teachers have final late work deadlines on Monday or Tuesday. If your student is working to bring up a grade, be sure they know the last day their teacher/s will accept the work for credit. Thursday is the last student day of the week and is a full day with regular dismissal at 2:30 p.m. The office will close on Friday at 12 noon.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Bennett

Rio Robotics Needs YOUR Help!
We have 40 students involved, but teams can only have a maximum of ten students. While we would have loved to have four teams, Robotics is expensive and we only had funding for 2 teams. We need to raise money to allow more students to participate. Registration fees and a robot costs about $1,000 per team.
If 1/2 of our Rio families could donate just $5, that would fund three teams moving into next semester. Please consider donating. EVERY dollar, even $1, helps us! For direct donations under $20, please send cash or check (payable to Rio Norte ASB) to our ASB Office, noting it's a donation for Rio Robotics. We'll ensure the donations go into their account. If you would like to do your shopping, including gift cards of $25 or more, to support Rio Robotics or intend to direct donate more than $20, please use the link below. We are truly grateful for the support of our families!
