#HornetsDeliverGratitude
From Mrs. Agee and Mrs. Comparato . . .
#HornetsDeliverGratitude is a group of students chosen to help deliver appreciation, gratitude and service to the community. Every month, all 6th grade students are given the opportunity to submit a project and show interest in becoming a part of such an amazing group of difference makers. Depending on our destination, a number of students are selected based on the project they have submitted.
So far this year, we have made and delivered cookies to the BGPD and BGFD, collected and delivered needed items to The Ronald McDonald House and volunteered our services to the Wheeler Mission Center for Women and Children. Many students have had the privilege of experiencing great emotional reward for going out of their way to help others. It has truly been amazing watching these kids show compassion and learning from their compassionate hearts."

A "Sole"ful Experience!
BGHS student, Weston Taylor, participates in internship at Eckstein Shoe Store . . .
What has Mr. Coffman learned from the experience? "Getting an inside feel of what is happening inside our local high school and learning about the programs offered to our students. It really helps to know what is happening in 'your own little backyard.' My customers really enjoy having Weston here and enjoy helping him to learn. He's earning a grade here as well. Having Weston as an intern is really beneficial to me and to my customers. As part of the program, I provide regular input to Mrs. Anderson in the form of an evaluation. I would absolutely recommend this program to other businesses. As a small business owner, it's hard to come up with extra money to pay for extra employees. Weston is here to learn, but he's also here to work and he saves me money on employment costs. So, it benefits him and my company, too. He's a good kid and we really enjoy having him at Eckstein Shoe Store. This is a really good program! We had no idea this program existed. I would highly recommend it to any other business owner."
If you are a business owner or work in a business where a Beech Grove High School student might benefit from working with you, please contact Mrs. Paige Anderson, at panderson@bgcs.k12.in.us.
Mrs. Wolfe Honors South Grove's "Students of the Month"
From Mrs. Stacy Johnson . . .
June has been doing Student of the Month at South Grove since she retired; I believe late 90's. She taught for 40+years at Central, then onto South Grove. For the Student of the Month parties, South Grove pays for the pizza, but June purchases the drinks, treats, and often makes BG necklaces (cross-stitch) for the kids to wear. She also brings in holiday decorations and musical stuffed animals for the kids to enjoy while they eat."
Thank you, June, for all you do for our South Grove students!

MyStop App
As we begin to experience winter weather, using the MyStop App will help you to determine the time your child's school bus will arrive at their stop. To access MyStop or E-Link, you can visit the Beech Grove website (www.bgcs.k12.in.us). Written directions are available to be downloaded. A link is provided for both E-Link and MyStop. You can also download MyStop from the App Store. The user ID for E-Link and MyStop is the student’s (5 digit) lunch number, the passcode is the child’s date of birth (ex. 02112001) - there are no spaces or dashes. In this example, the student was born February 11, 2001.
