Oh The Places You'll Go!
This Week
We had a fun time celebrating Dr. Seuss this week! We read parts of Cat in the Hat, One Fish Two Fish, Horton Hears a Who, etc. and did several Seuss-related art activities. While reading, we identified various objects, talked about emotions, and practiced answering questions about the events in the story. We sorted colored goldfish and compared groups of more/less. We also decorated the letter B with buttons, made tissue paper butterflies, played with playdoh, and practiced buttoning and zipping on dressing boards.
We learned how to play leap frog (on leap day) with our friends from Room 4. Other activities during friends group included board games, exploring various playgrounds, and playing in our birthday party dramatic play area! We also began learning our songs for Spring Fling.
We had a new student, William, as well as a new instructional assistant, Ms. Ashley, begin in our class this week! Ashley comes to us with experience working with kids with special needs, as well as three boys of her own. Both William and Ashley are already such wonderful additions!
News
- Picture Day is this Wednesday, March 9! (I got the date wrong in last week's newsletter - our class is scheduled to go on the 9th). I'll send out an email on Tuesday night to remind everyone.
- Egg Hunt - The CDC is having an Egg Hunt on Friday, March 25th starting at 10am! All are welcome and encouraged to attend, but since Friday is not a typically school day for our kiddos, a parent/nanny is required to accompany each child.
- Spring Fling - The CDC's annual Spring Fling concert will be on Friday, April 1st at 3:30pm. Please let me know if you and your child plan to attend.
I can't believe it's March already! Happy Weekend!
