iPad Collection for In-Person Learners
We will be collecting all devices (iPads, cords, and bricks) this year to catalog, clean and prepare for the 21-22 school year. Please find the collection dates and grades listed below. After these dates, all devices will be kept at school. In order to ensure fines are not accrued, please be sure charging cords & bricks are also returned with devices.
June 7: K-2 students (including SSLI) will return devices, cords & bricks.
June 9-11: 3-6 students will return devices, cords & bricks. A schedule for return will be shared by the classroom teacher.
If you have questions or concerns about the condition or status of your iPad, brick, and cord, please reach out to Mrs. Kijek our Media Specialist as soon as possible - Janet.kijek@fraserk12.org.
Note: Students participating in summer programs will receive their device back during summer school.
The district will be releasing the virtual device collection schedule separately.
Last Chance to Purchase a 6th Grade Yard Sign
The deadline to purchase signs is Friday. May 21st.
END OF THE YEAR BENCHMARK TESTING
Our Spring benchmark assessments continue this week. Our face-to-face students will be completing their assessment in person. Our virtual students will work with their teachers to complete testing at home. Make sure your child is well-rested and prepared for a day of testing!
It is VERY important virtual students complete these assessments without assistance. When parents assist with these assessments we do not get a true picture of your child's need and they may miss out on needed interventions due to inaccurate testing results.
Macomb County Health Department - Quarantine Updates
Note that 14 day quarantine is still recommended after known COVID close contact. Those who choose the 10 day quarantine option must doe the following:
- Continue daily symptom checks the entire 14 days: there must be no symptoms consistent with COVID
- Continue all mitigation strategies - masking, distancing, hand-washing
- Agree to cooperate with contact tracing efforts by health officials.
MCHD will continue to monitor trends and may recommend a return to 14 day quarantines should the average number of cases continually increase.
Mask Wearing at Recess
With the recent updated guidance regarding the wearing of masks, students will NO LONGER be required to wear a mask during recess. According to the State Order that was issued on May 6, 2021, outdoor gatherings with fewer than 100 people are not required to wear a mask. Masks will continue to be required indoors and at arrival and dismissal.
We realize this is a very personal decision for each family. Should you wish for your child to continue to wear a mask during recess, please feel free to let them know and/or communicate it with their classroom teacher.
We will continue to update our Seahawk community as new information is shared.
