Pleasant Knoll Middle School - April 2020
Message from Mr. Young
I hope that all of our families are doing well and staying healthy! As you are most likely aware by now, Governor Henry McMaster has closed all South Carolina public schools for the remainder of the year. While I am very sad about this decision, I also know that it is the right decision for the health and safety of all of us. I will say that I am very proud of our students, staff, and parents for working together during these difficult times to provide a platform of learning.
Our district is currently working on an E-Learning plan for the remainder of the year. We will send this plan out very soon to all of our families. There will also be specific plans for pick-up of student materials, and the turning in books and uniforms, and items to close out the school year. Again, we will work with district leaders to devise specific plans for those items. We definitely would like to honor our 8th grade students as they move on to high school and we will have a plan on how we will do that very soon.
I want to let all of our Knighthawk students know how much we miss them. I have always loved my job but I realize it more each day being without the students we care about so much. It's easy during these times to feel down and sad but I encourage all of our students to stay positive. Use this time to spend with family, try new things, and be kind to one another. I miss you all so much!!!

E-Learning Reminders for Students
2. Find a good space for learning each day. This should be away from distractions so you can focus properly.
3. Practice good time management. Try to get your work done first thing so you can enjoy the rest of your day.

Online Student Overpayments/Credits - Field Trips
The Fort Mill School District has deleted fees paid for any upcoming canceled field trips which the District has received vendor refunds for. Your credit is reflected in your student’s online Pay Fees account. Any credits will remain on your student’s account and will be applied to your 20-21 registration fees in May. These are for all refunds except Orange Sky (7th and 8th Grade Field Trip) and Band (Orlando). For those trips, you should have already received information or will be receiving it soon. If you have any questions regarding fees, please contact our school bookkeeper:

If you received a letter and were selected as a WEB Leader for next school year, you will receive an update once training dates are finalized.
If you are interested in trying out for the PKMS Cheer Team for next school year, please email Ms. Sarvis (email@example.com) by Monday, April 27 for more information.

Hello fellow Knighthawks parents!
The end of the school year is fast approaching as is the end of my tenure as the Athletic Booster Club President. Sadly, my youngest will be leaving the esteemed halls of PKMS and moving on to high school. Not only will I be leaving, at least one other member of our Board will be moving on to high school as well. This message is to ask for your committed and active leadership on the ABC Board. I'd love to make the transition as smooth as possible for anyone stepping into the roles of ABC Board membership. If you're interested in serving as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Fundraising Lead or Concessions Lead or if you just want to inquire about what is needed to fulfill these duties please reach out to me by email at email@example.com.
