Assessment News
We have been in the process of assessing our students in both reading and math. Students take the i-Ready assessment three times throughout the school year. The data we receive allows teachers to build instruction based on our students' individual needs. It also provides parents with a snapshot of their child's current growth as they progress through the year.In addition, you will receive your child's M-Step score report from the Spring of 2017. Listed below is a helpful video to help parents navigate the score report. Please contact your child's teacher with any questions.

Both the M-Step and i-Ready assessment reports are being sent home with your child today.
THIRD GRADE READING LAW
Michigan has passed a Third Grade Reading Law, and it takes effect during the 2017-2018 school year. Students will be assessed three times throughout the school year to determine if they have reading deficiencies and need extra support. If a student is reading below grade level according to the assessment(s), their classroom teacher, principal, and parent(s) will work together in creating an Individual Reading Improvement Plan (IRIP). Students will receive the interventions they need to ensure reading success. To learn more, please visit: https://mea.org/learn-whats-in-the-new-third-grade-reading-law/.
If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact our Reading Interventionist, Mrs. Lindsay Harris (lindsay.harris@myeagles.org).
