STUDENTS IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Irmo Student Receives Magnet School of America Recognition

Catie Rooney, pictured below, is a Senior this year at IHS. She is seen here being presented with an award for her 2nd place win in the Magnet Schools of America Student Poster Contest for 2020. Ms. Smylie, Art teacher at IHS, was excited to hear of her accomplishment, "Catie has so much creative talent. It's wonderful to see her honored at a national level for her hard work and artistic vision." IHS students do great things everyday and we are proud and excited for Catie, her hard work and her honor. #ThisIsIrmo

Don't Break Me!

By the time Spring Break rolls around, students and faculty alike are ready for a reset. What better way to do that than experience the treasures nature provides. Each year before the major holiday breaks, students in Physical Science and Astronomy are treated to a lesson in "Sea Shells." Students learn about various shells from South Carolina and other parts of the world and actually get to handle them. This year each student present was allowed to take a Sand Dollar home with them courtesy of the Palmetto Shell Club. Always a fun way to get ready for the rest periods and remind us how great getting out in nature can be!

- "Like seashells, we are beautiful and unique, each with a story to tell." - Unknown

REMINDERS AND INFORMATION

RETURNING MISSED CALLS FROM IHS

If you miss a call from 476-3000, please check your voicemail to see if the caller left a message. The number that appears on your caller ID is the main number for the front office, and unfortunately, ALL outgoing lines in the school show this number. If you know who you missed a call from, we are able to connect you to your caller. We do encourage staff placing calls to leave messages.
