Parent Communication - Social Media Awareness
TMS - THS Parents and Families,
Our local law enforcement partners and state associations have alerted us that there may be additional TikTok challenges coming each month.
While many kids use TikTok for fun and creativity, it is also prone to create peer pressure and risk-taking. We are hopeful that these additional monthly challenges will not actually happen, but we want parents to be aware. We ask parents to have direct conversations with your kids about TikTok and social media challenges and the potential consequences such as school discipline and legal charges. We will continue to work closely with our local law enforcement partners regarding social media concerns as we move forward. See the links below for more information on how you can monitor TikTok.

Financial Aid Night - Wednesday, October 6, 6:30 - 8:00 PM
College-Bound Seniors and Parents,
Presentations will be offered in both English and Spanish. After the presentation, families can get help completing their FAFSA/Dream Act application, also in both English and Spanish. Students should bring their Chromebook to work on the FAFSA/ Dream Act application, but a limited amount of school devices will be available that night. You will learn tips and advice on the financial aid process as well as how to avoid errors. In addition, there will be many financial aid resources available that will help you to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the form that is required to apply for federal financial aid at any college. NOTE the 2022-2023 FAFSA is the one you need to complete and it does not become available until October 1st. If you have already filled out the FAFSA online, unfortunately, you filled out the wrong one and will need to complete the 2022-2023 application when it opens.
We look forward to seeing you. Please let me know if you have any questions!
