Student Schedules

Students were mailed a schedule and a letter indicating their assigned days on Wednesday (7/29) . All students, regardless of their survey results have been assigned an A day or B day. It is our understanding that some students have received their schedule and letter, while others have not. I have sent students a copy of the letter and their assigned day to their student emails. This will at least provide direction and hopefully those of you who have not received the schedule in the mail will receive it Monday. We will provide students with a copy of their schedule on the first day if they do not have it and it will be available for them to view in their PowerSchool. We encourage students to bring their mailed schedule with them on their first day of school.

THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IS THIS WEEK!

Whether students are remote, A day, or B day, all students begin school THIS week, specifically August 4th. Students will be receiving an email from their high school teachers Monday. (Again, high school teachers, not college instructors!) This email will provide instructions for the first week in that specific class. It is imperative students check their email and follow their teachers' instructions. Do not wait! This is a new way to "do school" and it will be different from our remote experiences last semester.

Senior Pictures

Seniors, remember your pictures take place, Monday, August 3rd in the LRC. We must maintain social distancing and we have other procedures in place. Please wear your masks while you wait for your session to begin.

School Procedures

For our returning students, things are going to look and feel very different this year because of the procedures we must follow due to COVD-19. Here are some of the procedures we need everyone to follow:

  • Upon arrival, your temperature will be taken and recorded.
  • Students are not allowed to congregate anywhere. As soon as you arrive, you must report to your classroom.
  • If you need breakfast, you may enter the Cafe through the doors closest to RECHS and exit the doors closest to the LRC. The Cafe is closed for dining and has a limited menu.
  • Students must eat lunch in their classrooms. Again, there is a limited menu. See below.
  • Buildings will have specified entrances and exits.
  • Some buildings will have one-way hallways.
  • Collaboration activities in your classes will look different.
  • Hand washing throughout the day will be an expectation.
  • Hall-way transitions will be staggered by class to limit the number of students in the hallways.
  • Bathrooms must remain at 50% capacity.

We will review other procedures when you arrive to school.

Transportation

Please remember RCSS does not begin full transportation until traditional schools are in session. For the first two weeks, we will have limited transportation which means only shuttle transportation from the hub to RECHS in the mornings is available and only shuttle service from RECHS to the hub site is available in the afternoons.

There will be an additional hub at Wheatmore High School beginning on August 17th. Right now, all Archdale Trinity students need to take the THS hub for the first two weeks of school.

August 4th-August 14 RELOCATION

The great news is the RECHS building is receiving a new air conditioning. The not-so-great news is our building is not ready for the start of school. We are having to relocate to other buildings on campus until our building is finished.

Ninth and Tenth Graders: You will be reporting to the AE Building (Administration Education Center)

Eleventh and Twelfth Graders: You will be reporting to The Kinley Center.
