Medical Suicide
For the Social Security Dilemma
The Situation
Doctors for years have denied the idea of allowing their patients the decision on whether they would like to give up and just pass away or continue down a hopeless road of procedures and medication. They say its unethical, but is it truly unethical? it's their life after all. Besides ethics though it is definitely logical, With today's Social Security dilemma the thought of allowing hopeless patients the decision on whether to pass away or toil away is quite understandable. With the more elderly about and the less money in Social Security it would make sense to give that option to the hopeless instead of throwing away all that money that other elderly people could use. In my own opinion this would be the most understanding option to decrease the Social Security dilemma because of the facts above.
