GISD Contributes to United Way Goal
Gainesville ISD was proud to once again be a pacesetter for the CCUW campaign. On Thursday, November 7, district and campus leaders attended the Celebration luncheon, in which the grand fundraising total for the campaign was announced. Gifted & Talented Referrals
GISD is now accepting referrals for students who may need Gifted/Talented
Services for the school year. This program is designed for students who exhibit intellectual
and creative thinking abilities at an extraordinary level not normally served in the regular
classroom. Services are provided only upon identification of education needs of the student.
Anyone wishing to refer a student attending Gainesville ISD in kindergarten through 12th
grade this school year is asked to go by the student’s campus office and request a copy of
the referral form. This form must be returned to the school by November 30. Those unable
to go by the school should call 940.665.4362 to request a form be sent to them.
GT Parent Coffee Talk
The GT Parent Coffee Talk will be a time for parents to ask questions about their GT student and the GT program. Ms. Dosher, Advanced Academics Coordinator, will present a short program on the Social and Emotional needs of GT students.
This is open to any parent, including parents whose students may not currently be in the program, but may be interested in nominating their child for testing.
Coffee, juice and small snacks will be provided.

Mobile app ensures easy access to parent portal.
Parents...did you know you can easily access parent portal through our GISD mobile app? You can also add parent portal to your home screen. Or you can do both!
Parent portal is where you did online registration, but also is where you can access all of your child's grades, absences,
attendance, discipline referrals, and more. You can also subscribe to alerts by email and/or text message for things such as a grade below 90, and average below 80, missing assignments, etc. This helps prevent surprises at progress report and report card time!
