Building SLO:
By June of 2016, 80% of students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will show growth in their opinion writing rubric score from the September 2015 opinion writing rubric score.
Building Goals:
- Have Patience and Courage
- Purposefully Use Learning Targets/Lesson Goals for Every Lesson
- Have Solution Based Discussions
- Be an Award Winning School - DPI School of Recognition/PBIS School of Merit
Driving Question for 2015-2016:
What have we changed with our instruction to prepare all our students for higher level thinking opportunities?
News and Notes
- Building SLO Update - This week I will be talking with team's about our building SLO. At the mid-year point we have 62% of our students showing growth in their writing. Our goal is 80%. Our Data wall will be updated soon with our new numbers.
- BAMS PLTW Update - The PLTW Team met last month. Our first year as a PLTW school is going great. Todd is doing an awesome job with the Automation and Robotics class. Each quarter Todd has been able to get further along with the students. Next year we will implement another foundation class; Design and Modeling. If you have an interest in braiding PLTW into your class, please let me know. There are opportunities for us to train staff and to provide more opportunities to our students.
- Kim, Jenny and I attended a conference last week about Academic Career Planning (ACP). ACP ties into the state's preparing students to be college and career ready initiative. Every district in Wisconsin needs to have a ACP plan in place by the 2017-2018 school year. Academic Career Planning is the responsibility of all staff. You will hear and learn more about ACP in the near future.
- Brenda, Jennifer, and I will be having an Office Staff Meeting on Wednesday at 10:30am. Kim Broten will be covering the office during this time. Remember, some office procedures may change as we move forward with our new secretarial team. This is a great opportunity to reflect on our practices and try to be more efficient and effective. Changes will be communicated to you.
- Don't forget about taking accurate daily attendance. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help with this.
- Please return earbuds to the office for us to store until the next time they are needed. I have ordered more sets of earbuds.
