Boys Golf To Raise Money For Siteman Cancer Center
The Francis Howell Boy's Golf program will again be hosting a golf charity match in which they raise money for the community. This year they are raising money for the fight against cancer, a cause that hits close to home for the Howell Golf family as well as many families across world.
Cole Prager is a senior and four-year member of the program. He is not only a talented golfer, but he is also a great young man. Cole’s parents, Mark and Crissy Prager, have been the bright and smiling faces at our tournaments and matches. Unfortunately, Cole’s dad, Mark, has had a reoccurrence of esophageal cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. The program wants to support Cole, Mark, and Crissy in their family’s fight against cancer so on their April 17th match against Francis Howell North they will host their "Francis Howell Golf’s Tee Off Against Cancer Match." They have gathered donations and have made a raffle basket with over $2000 in items. Some of the items are golf related, including a foursome to Whitmoor, Bear Creek, Sun Valley, and Pheasant Run. There are also six dozen golf balls, including Pro V1s. There are over $300 in gift cards (BWWs, Brass Rail, etc.), Howell golf items, and much more. The full list is attached and at the bottom of the email
The Prager family has asked that all proceeds raised will go to the Siteman Cancer Center because it has been their “rock, support, and medical team in treating Mark for a second time.” All funds raised from the raffle basket will go to Siteman Cancer Center in their honor.
One ticket is $5 or you can do five for $20. All tickets must be purchased before the end of the match on April 17th. If you are interested in purchasing tickets please contact Head Boys Golf Coach Carl Wayne at Carl.Wayne@fhsdschools.org for multiple ways you can purchase your raffle tickets. Thank you to Boys Golf for their continued efforts to support those both in and out of our Howell Family in their battle with cancer!
Howell Signing Ceremony Set For April 17th
Howell has a long history of developing student-participants that go on to participate and compete at the college level in their activities and sports. Currently nearly 250 students are competing and furthering their education at the college level. This number marks one of the highest rates not only in the State but in the country. On Wednesday, April 17th Howell will recognize the Class of 2019 seniors that will move on to continue their education and activity and sport at the college level with their 5th Annual Signing Day Ceremony. Information for this great yearly event can be found below. All of those that are participating in this event need to stop by the Activities Office this week to confirm attendance. For those that have not signed yet or who have not made a final decision, there will be a final Signing Day Ceremony in May and information will be communicated on that date following the April 17th Signing Day Ceremony. Congratulations to these young men and women on their decisions to further their education and activity and sport at the college level!
