A Note from Dr. Hanson, Superintendent

Dear, Teachers, Friends, & Families,

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope this communication finds you well and enjoying the transition from summer to fall. I want to thank you all for your assistance in keeping our schools open to in-person learning. We recognize this is not an easy task as we continue to move through this pandemic.

As you continue to support the efforts of the school, community, and others, we would like to remind you to take time to take care of yourself. It is okay to ask for help when needed. Below are a few resources that we encourage you to use or share with someone who may need them.

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline - 1-800-273-8255,

  • We can all help prevent suicide. The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals.

As we continue to work together, here are a few reminders on how we can keep our students, staff, and community healthy:

  1. We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ALL NPPS employees, students, and visitors/ volunteers to wear a face-covering regardless of their vaccination status.
  2. We will continue to follow the Return To School Plan as it is outlined. And will assess each COVID situation on a case-by-case basis.

Again, thank you for your efforts in keeping our students, staff, and community safe and healthy. We appreciate you!

Teaching & Learning

English Learner [EL] Placement Paperwork:

At the beginning of October, the English Learner program coordinator will be sending home an English Learner program document (sample shown) if your student qualifies for EL services. The document outlines what type of English Learner services and supports your student will be receiving. If you do not receive this document, your student does not qualify for EL services. This paperwork does not need to be returned to your student's school. The document is just a notification of services. If you have questions regarding placement or services, please feel free to contact the English Learner department at 308-535-7136 or Thank you!

Kids Klub has successfully completed our first month of programming. We continue to be amazed by

and thankful for the support of our district administration and our families.

We do have waiting lists in each of our seven locations, however, we will continue to take enrollment applications. You can find the application on our website under the Kids Klub tab. Print, fill out and scan back to us to be placed on our waitlist.

Our September Mega Day was a complete success! Thank you Dusty Trails for hosting!

The Kids Klub MakerSpace Trailer was used over the weekend to provide activities for the children involved in the North Platte Community Playground Build project. What a fun way for us to give back to our community.

Thank you again for your support of our program. Welcome back to the 2021-22 School Year! We're glad you chose to 'Come Grow With Us'.

1:00 pm – Until Food is Gone

This is an OPEN AIR, DRIVE THRU Distribution. Patrons will drive their car through a line, and volunteers will bring the boxed food to the car. Free of charge. 325 Households will be served on a first come first serve basis. The Food Pantry is sponsored by the Food Bank of the Heartland.

Please start the line OUTSIDE of the school parking lot next to the tennis courts. DO NOT COME INTO THE PARKING LOT PRIOR TO THE SEMI UNLOADING THE DISTRIBUTION ITEMS.

If you are in the parking lot prior to the gates opening we will ask you to move your vehicle. When the mobile distribution begins, cars can drive up to the gate by the Northeast corner of the football field. Patrons will drive through the alley between the football field and the high school building, exiting on West A Street. Use only the entrance closest to the tennis courts to avoid congestion as students leave after school. While waiting for the distribution to begin you need to follow all traffic laws. Do not block driveways or streets for any reason. Safety is our number one concern and we do not want anyone to get hurt.
