TRIP TO NYC
for miss.Pappas by Manolis and Alexis
Why did we choose NYC? Well, simply because it is supposed to be the center of the world! Million things to do, see and visit will keep you busy and entertained for as long as you have the pleasure of staying there!!
Empire State Building
This classic Art Deco architecture of the 102-story Empire State Building makes this one of the most popular NYC sights. Go up to the 86th floor's balcony for views of up to 127 kilometers. Don't forget to buy your ticket online, in advance, and if you can afford it, prefer the "skip the queue" option.
Central Park
A beautiful green park in the very center of the island of Manhattan. It's the best place to take a break from a shopping spree, walk around, or just relax, enjoy the view and do some people-watching. There are lochs, ponds, bridges and even an obelisk to see, a zoo and a conservatory to visit and that is why you will want to stay there for a whole day!
Grand Central Terminal
The beauty of this famous Beaux Arts building is not to be missed, whether you arrive by rail or not. Built between 1903 and 1931, Grand Central Terminal is stunning and that is why it has been used as a setting in many Hollywood movies. Take a tour in order to find out about its history, including its near destruction and restoration.
MOMA museum
The Museum of Modern Art is a true art lover's paradise. Its permanent collection includes, among others, works of Picasso, Matisse, Van Gogh and Gaugin and it hosts very interesting temporary exhibitions too!! The building of MOMA is very beautiful and its garden is full of sculptures by famous artists. So, it is definitely worth having a walk around it.
Highline
This is is a pathway floating in the air! It is an elevated 2,33 kilometer road between tall buildings that crosses the very hip Meatpacking District through to the arty Chelsea area. You can have a walk on this amazing road criss-crossing between buildings, while enjoying the amazing views and take a peek at the renovated apartment buildings.
The Chrysler Building
77 floors, 319.5m (1048 feet) high, 29961 tons of steel, 3,826,000 bricks, near 5000 windows. This is the amazing Chrysler building . It is considered to be one of the most beautiful art deco skyscrapers in the world! When you visit it, you will immediately see why!!
Statue of Liberty
A giant sculpture located on Liberty island. It will take you approximately half an hour to reach it by boat from Manhattan. The statue was a gift from the people of France (in 1886) and it is also one o the most popular sights internationally. It is a universal symbol of democracy and liberty.
The Guggenheim Museum
The most impressive of the 4 Guggenheim museums is still this beautiful building located in the Upper East Site of Manhattan. Designed by the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the Guggenheim has a very interesting collection of impressionist, post-impressionist, modern and contemporary art, which keeps expanding.
Ground Zero
Although it is a site, where a big tragedy took place, Ground Zero is worth visiting because you can see how New York people have managed to move forward. A new, impressive skyscraper ( One World Trade Center), two 9/11 memorials, and a 9/11 museum are attracting a lot of visitors and we believe that you won't regret visiting it either..
CULINARY PARADISE
New York is a true culinary paradise, because you can find whatever your heart desires there! From Asian, Mexican, Arabian, Chines to Greek, Italian and Lebanese, New York has it all!! Take your pick and you will be amazed! If you want to eat like true New Yorker, then don't forget to taste the classic hot dog, sold almost in every single corner of Manhattan!!
