District Holds Teacher Recruitment Fair
On March 9, the District held its annual Teacher Recruitment Fair, with more than 200 candidates meeting with our principals at Rutland High School. Lots of them had interviews with schools for openings, and some came away with a chance to join our team for 2019-2020!
"The fair was well-attended, and we offered some contracts as well," said Human Resources Coordinator Mallori Gattis.
Special thanks to Rutland High for hosting this event and to all our principals, teachers, staff and even students for making candidates feel welcome.

McDuffie and Students Visit Vineville Academy
On March 13, Vineville Academy of the Arts got a visit from Robert McDuffie and Robert McDuffie Center for Strings students. The group performed several pieces and answered students’ questions. McDuffie also showed the students that you can even dance to classical music and talked to them about the importance of practicing.
“Just pretend that you’re in a different world when you practice, and pretend that people are in front of you listening,” he said.
Special thanks to McDuffie and the Business Education Partnership for making this visit possible. It’s important for our students to see all the opportunities that await them if they keep up their hard work!
