GYPSD Support
As we begin this unique school year, we would like to let you know that the Family School Liaison Counsellors (FSLCs) continue to be available to all students, whether enrolled in face to face classes, a virtual program or a hybrid of the two. FSLCs provide mental health support for students through supportive counselling for emotional and behavioural concerns. Some examples of what this work would look like is helping students to find ways to manage anxiety, anger or talking about the grief they are experiencing. For students who are learning at home, FSLCs would meet with them on Google Meets. The FSLC is also available to work with parents, brainstorming ways to support their children at home. They can also help parents connect with community agencies and programs outside of school. If you would like Family School Liaison Counsellor support for your family, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher or front office and talk to them about a referral to the FSLC for your child.
