Rocks Spring Sports Report!
Spring sports at WHS have been very strong this year! Nearly every team (or individual athletes on a team) have broken records or achieved things they have never done in the history of WHS. We wish good luck to both our softball and baseball teams as they begin sectional play this week, and to our boys and girls track teams who are sending athletes onto the regional round of the tournament.
Some highlights from the season include:
The Unified Track team won their first ever sectional!!
Boys Golf won the HCC Championship and freshman Will Harvey won the individual championship with a medalist score of 72. The Boys Golf Team has been ranked in the top three in the state all season.
Softball finished the regular season with an overall record of 15-9 and tied for second in the HCC. 15 wins and finishing second in HCC are both program highs. Senior Avery Parker broke the season and career home run record.
Senior Kai Connor won the 800M run and is the Sectional Champion in Boys Track breaking both the sectional record and the school record.
Girls Tennis finished third in the HCC Championship which is a program best and they are currently ranked in the top ten in the state, also a program best.
Our Boys and Girls Lacrosse teams (who will be part of Westfield Athletics next year) have both won their first round of playoff games. Junior Sawyer Strong has been named HCLC Player of the Year!
And Former Rock Alum (2016) Ryan Pepiot made his Major League Baseball debut for the Dodgers in early May!
Way to go, ROCKS!
