Berlin Airlift
APRIL 1, 1948 – MAY 12, 1949
EVENT
When Berlin had been divided into four sections, the Soviet Union wasn't happy with this and proceeded to do what they felt was necessary to take it over. They closed highways, railroads, and canals going from western Germany into western Berlin. The result of this was the U.S. and its allies providing their parts of Berlin from the air.

A Cold War Continued
Why was it important in delaying the Cold War?
The communist Soviet Union obviously didn't care about the prolonging of the Cold War and was more worried about the benefits of itself.
