FFA
ALL 8th graders are eligible to participate in FFA this year! FFA is an organization that is for students interested in agriculture - previous experience is definitely not needed. There are many great opportunities to become involved - competitions, monthly activities, service events and leadership opportunities! Please let Mrs. Hartley know if you have any questions! If your child is interested and not already signed up, please use the link to sign up! We will be ordering FFA shirts next week!
Dress Code
What is the purpose of a Dress Code?
The purpose of a dress code is a primary means of helping students learn a skill, which is required for success in getting and keeping employment linked to attire. In addition, the dress code is to provide guidance to students and parents as to appropriate attire for school and at any school function.
What is it?
Clothing must not have vulgar or suggestive images or symbols. Clothing must cover the torso to the mid-thigh and have sleeves. All undergarments must remain covered. More detailed description of the policy can be found in the student handbook on page 29.
What are the consequences?
Students will be asked to add clothing items or change items to be in alignment with the policy. Continually violating the dress code can be treated as insubordination of a school policy, which could result in disciplinary actions.
Immunizations
A useful resource is the Indiana Immunization Coalition. They have compiled a list of resources to help parents understand the vaccinations required for school age children. If you have questions about your student's immunization records, please contact Nurse Susie at sragan@tcsc.k12.in.us
*This is unrelated to COVID and has been a requirement of students for many years.*
Free Food
Encourage your child to grab breakfast on the go before class. (They can eat during first period.)
**Got Extra Produce??**
Do you happen to have any extra cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, etc. from your garden?? Our Tipton FFA/Ag Department is seeking donations of fresh produce to help make an impact in our community. We have received a National FFA Living to Serve Grant to help provide needed meat and produce products to those in need. We are working with local FFA members to obtain meat products. Greens from the towers and donations from the community will help meet the need for the produce. Please send in any extra garden produce you have to the ag rooms and we will get it to Good Shepherd. Thanks in advance for helping make an impact!

Great News!
We are excited to inform the Tipton Community School Corporation that an ALL PRO DAD chapter has been created. This is being started as the result of Bryce Silver and David Maddox looking for a way to get father’s/adult role models more involved in their children’s lives. These meetings will be open to the Tipton Elementary School and Tipton Middle School families and will occur the first Thursday of the month. Any questions can be directed to www.allprodadchapters.com/chapters/12452, Bryce.Silvey@gmail.com, or dmaddox@tcsc.k12.in.us. Hope to see you there on October 7th.
Make sure to RSVP!
