Thank You, Families!
Morning Drop Off
Thank you to the Hendersonville Police Dept. for swinging by a few days during the upcoming week to make sure that our vehicles are not going too fast! Mr. Thurman and I will also try to hang out back there when possible to observe and make sure our students are safe.
If you are dropping off a student as a car rider, do not turn into the bus lane against the flow of bus traffic. This is for staff parking or daycare drop off only. You must follow the traffic pattern around the playground at the back of the school. It is essential that you drive slowly because there is a crosswalk at the back of the playground for our walkers and bike riders who live in the neighborhood behind the school. Pull all the way around to the front of the school and drop off only in the front of the building.
Please remember that there is a crosswalk at the back of the playground for our walkers and bike riders. It is important that you drive slowly, and please be cautious for walkers and bike riders.
Afternoon Dismissal
A team of our staff members researched and collected data before making the decision to try the new dismissal route. it was determined that the majority of our car riders live on the Gallatin side of JAE. Therefore, we decided it would work if at least half of our families turned to the right toward Cages Bend Road.
Thank you for your patience and smiles as we are adapting to the new routine. Cars were backing up on Shute Lane Monday and Tuesday around 3:35, however we do not begin releasing cars until 3:40. After the first wave of cars are released, this is no longer an issue.
I have included the JAE School Zone Map and the directions showing that it is 2.6 miles to Gallatin Road IF you happen to be in the right lane and must turn right. As you can see, the majority of families are able to access their homes from multiple routes. Thank you for your cooperation!

News from the Jack Anderson PTO
We look forward to seeing you!
Please re-enroll your Kroger card under community rewards on the Kroger website. It has to be activated every August. ANYone can enroll...neighbors, friends, relatives!
This Friday, August 24th is our first spirit day. Dress your students in JAE gear, and let's see who's class has the most spirit! Students may wear their JAE shirts, Jaguar shirts, or they may also wear our school colors (maroon or gray) to count in class totals.
Parent Surveys
To be compliant, 20% of parents, 60% of staff, and 40% of students (they take the survey in January) must complete the survey. I am happy to announce that we had 474 parents participate (20% of our total number of students = 170 parents).
I have included a snapshot of some of the results from this year's parent survey. I will update you on ways we intend to address areas of challenge.
Thank you again for helping JAE!
