Knighthawk Family News
Pleasant Knoll Middle School - March Edition
Message from Mrs. Hustedt
Knighthawk Families,
I cannot believe Spring Break is already here! Everyone deserves a relaxing and fun week. I want to thank all of our students, teachers, and parents for making the transition to 5 days as smooth as possible. Our students are doing a fantastic job following our new guidelines, and it is so nice connecting with our students every day.
The 3rd quarter will end the week after Spring Break. Please see below for a few reminders as April 16th approaches.
- Parent Portal: Please encourage your child to check PowerSchool to review his or her grades and complete any missing assignments. If you have any questions, please reach out to our teachers or counselors.
- Spring Sporting Events: Please make sure to purchase tickets prior to the game or meet. You can purchase tickets on https://gofan.co/search
- Cell Phone Policy: Cell phones may be brought to school and used before or after school to
communicate with parents. They must be turned off and placed in the student’s locker from 7:40 AM until 3:10 PM. Students may use our front office phone if they need to communicate with a parent during the school day.
- Tardies: Students are marked tardy if not in their seats at 8:10 AM. All car riders must enter the building by 8:08 AM.
Again, we are so grateful to have a supportive PKMS community. Together we act as a team to provide the best middle school experience for all of our students.
We are thoughtful. We are empowered. We are connected. We are PLEASANT KNOLL!
Go Knighthawks,
Cori Hustedt, Principal

Nurse News
ATTENTION: 6th GRADE STUDENTS AND PARENTS
Please make an appointment for your child to update their Tdap vaccination before next school year. ALL seventh graders (including virtual students) will be REQIIRED to get the Tdap vaccine to protect them against whooping cough (pertussis). One (1) dose of Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) administered on or after the 7th birthday will be required for all seventh graders. It is strongly recommended that adolescents who have not yet received a dose of Tdap vaccine be immunized in advance of this requirement. Students who are not up to date with their Tdap vaccination may not be allowed to attend school. For more information, please visit www.scdhec.gov/health/vaccinations
Please send a copy of the immunization record to the school nurse with the updated vaccination information.
