Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Snapshot News:

Year 7 this week have been working hard learning kodu. Their task was to create an island that met the needs of the client. Students worked really hard to meet this brief with EJ, Gabriela E and Logan R standing out as excellent examples and their work is pictured below.

Dagan - Year 10 - DT

Dagan in Year 10 has been developing his CAD skills using 2D to create a coast design that was then laser cut out using 3 different colour acrylics.

Nominations:

MFL:


Miss Graziano has nominated Year 10 students Holly, Gabi, Daisy, Milana B, Tearlach, Emily S and Leila for very hard work and focus this week in Spanish, also nominated students from 8ST for great work on Quizlet and Quizlet live.


DT/Art:


Mrs Firmin would like to say well done to Year 10 students Daniel C and Shamiso for excellent effort on their home learning.


Music:


Miss Jenkins would like to nominate CJay from Year 9 who has used his knowledge from his Music Technology sessions with Miss Orestano to enhance the work he is doing in his Music lessons. He has shown an outstanding commitment to his studies and is producing an excellent quality of work as a result.

Miss Patrick would like to nominate Angela O from year 8 as she has excelled in learning the ukulele and has consistently shown a dedication to improving her skills. Well done, Angela!


Science:


Mrs Brightwell has nominated Year 12 students Rhys and Eoin for excellent effort in Chemistry.


Mr Cox has nominated his Year 11Combined Scientists who have worked really hard on a tricky topic this week (electrolysis).


Humanities:


Miss Buffini would like to say well done to the Year 7’s in History for putting in such an effort with their assignment on The Battle of Hastings.


Mrs Vaghadia ha nominated Year 11 Sociology students Ines, Alicia R, Ellie, Sophie and Alyssa for their hard work and commitment to the lessons this week. Also nominated this week are Year 7 students Daniel H for working extremely hard in the lesson and participating in RSCS really well and Kirat for her continued hard work and participation in the lesson, a real joy to teach.

Well done to Year 9 students Olivia W and Alex B for excellent work completed for their written English assessment piece.
