Important Reminders

Required Forms

Please be sure to send back all forms, either brought home or mailed to your homes, completely filled out and signed. Examples would be:

  • Student Contact
  • Chromebook User Agreement (if applicable)
  • Health Forms
  • Signed Course Syllabi and Student Handbook Acknowledgement

Excused Absences

Mr. Buckner, CAP’s Truancy Officer, wants to see all CAP students in school. Please be sure to document all excused absences. Remember that according to PA Truancy Law:

  • any combination of 3 unexcused absences = TRUANCY

  • any combination of 6 unexcused absences = HABITUAL TRUANCY

Habitual truancy requires an improvement plan for the student and measures may get more severe if not followed; see the Code of Conduct or the CAP Website for the full Truancy Policy.

ABSENCE NOTES: Please remember to send in a note with your child or simply email absent@communityacademy.org for all excused absences.

Middle States Re-Accreditation and Parent/Guardian Survey

CAP is proud to be Middle States Accredited; this is a point of national recognition that we have held for the past 27 years. Accredited schools have their status renewed every seven years and it is our turn. This gives us a chance to look at what we want to improve and make a plan for the next seven years. We started the process last year, will be working diligently this year on our self-study, and a Visiting Team of educators will visit the school in Spring 2023.

As part of our preparation, students and teachers were surveyed last Spring. Now it is time to hear from you, parents and guardians. If you could please take the time (5-7 min) to complete this survey, the results will become part of our preparation for the next seven years:

Middle States Parent Survey (click here to access) Thank you for your help!

CAP Student Surveys

Always core to the CAP Mission is the importance of supporting the whole student so they can reach their personal best across the board. Students in grades 3-12 will be being surveyed to help CAP better support their social emotional learning and needs which go hand-in-hand with the ability to learn and be successful students.

Federal Programs

The Fall Federal Programs meeting will be held on Wed., Sept. 7th at 5:30 pm.; this is right before Back-to-School Night which runs 6-8pm the same night. Federal Program family meetings are held each Fall and Spring to provide families with information regarding CAP’s funding and to get input from families. Please join us!
