REMINDER!
A Dash of Salt - How Acceptance isn't as Bad as You Think
The Power of Acceptance is choosing to accept the moment is as it is. It is mindfulness in action. There’s a misconception equating acceptance with passivity or settling. We can take the moment and still prefer a different way. Acceptance is acknowledging “what is” without getting wrapped up in what “should be.”

BOOK BINGO: Our March Family Night is Book Bingo on March 14th from 6-8pm in the gym. This is a crowd favorite! Come join us for the classic game of Bingo, starring some favorite guests as our callers. Every student will leave with a book or two, a Book Bingo Badge, and a smile. We will need some extra helpers to fill all stations and time slots. If you would like to help out, please check out the signup genius here.
AUCTION/CARNIVAL: The 33rd Annual Auction and Carnival is May 7th. This is a family event that consists of both a live and silent auction, as well as carnival type games and activities for the kids. This event serves as our main fundraiser for the year. We are currently looking for game sponsors and/or donations! If you or your company are interested in helping with one of these items, please see the attached letters. In addition to donations, there will be plenty of volunteer opportunities for this event as the time gets closer. We would love your help!

Library News
March is Reading Month
- One of the opportunities is through this reading calendar. The students are receiving this during their library classes. If they complete this throughout the month of March, get it signed by a parent/guardian, and return it after Spring Break they will receive their prizes and their picture on the Roadrunner Reading Wall of Fame. Here is another copy in case they need it.
- They will be earning tickets throughout the week in their classrooms for reading incentives. Drawings will be every Friday morning to win free books or posters.
- We are partnering with Culver's in Brighton to win coupons for free ice cream and kids meals! Five books completed earns them a free ice cream, and ten books completed earns them a free kids meal.

Note From the Counselor
Counselor Corner!
Here we are in March, ready for some sunshine and warmer weather! This month, we will be visiting classrooms for some Read Alouds and social-emotional stories for Reading Month. We are doing our best to meet the needs of students and classrooms by providing additional support with student groups and individual concerns. During this time of the year, needs are high and many students are requiring additional connections. Our goal for this month is to more directly meet the needs of our students during this stretch of the year when we all need a little more TLC.
Lets Connect: If you are noticing some behaviors that are interfering with your child’s success in the classroom, please feel free to complete my parent referral form and we can work together to determine if supports are needed here at school.
More Resources: We also have our BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home!
