Dear RQMS Families
If you have already filled out and returned your ballots in this important election for QUIST students, staff, and the community; I want to say thank you for voting!
- If you have not, I want to encourage you to fill out your ballot and drop it off at one of many Ballot Drop Box Locations. Please do not mail your ballots. It is now too late to mail your ballot and have it arrive in time to be counted.
- You may also drop off your ballot, register to vote, update your voter registration, and/or request a new or replacement ballot at the Adams County Government Building West Entrance located at 4430 South Adams County Parkway, Brighton, CO 80601.
We also want to take a moment to introduce a new Quist staff member (pictured on the left) who will be starting soon. Seamus will be helping out one or two days a week by walking the halls from time to time and providing comfort and joy. He is a certified therapy dog who belongs to our School Psychologist, Jen Hirsch. He will be leashed and under her care and direction at all times. He may join students outside from time to time at recess. If your child either works with Mrs. Hirsch or is in a class with another student who does, you will receive more information about Seamus. Any student who may have allergies or doesn’t feel comfortable around dogs will have ample opportunity to stay away. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me or Mrs. Hirsch directly at jshirsch@sd27j.net.
Best,
Trina Norris-Buck, Ed.S.

Parent Survey (Last Opportunity today 10/29)
To date, we have had less than half of our families respond. Our goal is to obtain feedback from as many of our families as possible if not all of you.
We believe in developing a strong partnership with parents and guardians to enhance learning. Our hope is that you will take a few minutes to complete this survey so that we can gather feedback on our school environment. Please help us understand what is working well and where we can do better for you and your student.

Athletics News
Greetings RQMS Athletes and Families,
Thank you all for your continued support - here is this week's update.
- Unfortunately, we have to forfeit all our games this past week, due to our quarantine. We are not the only school faced with this, so we will have to see how this impacts our standings. Unfortunately, due to our short seasons, we are not able to reschedule these games. Thank you for your understanding and support of putting our players' safety first, above all else.
- Basketball photos have been rescheduled - please bring clean jerseys both days!
(Order Form HERE)
Nov 9 - C team individual and teamNov 10 - B/A teams - individual, B/A teams, the WHOLE team
- Eligibility - Due to the quarantine this week, we are going to use last week's eligibility pull for next week's games. Athletes who have improved their grades AND completed the Eligibility Rubric (earning enough points & delivering to me) will be eligible to play. Athletes who have not taken these steps last week will be ineligible to play. I will still pull the reports and give these to the coaches, just so they can monitor how their athletes are doing academically.
- Next week's games - We have a BYE on Tuesday and a contest against the Knights of Vikan on Thursday, 11/4. A team is away and B team is home.
As always, thank you for your continued support and trust in Quist and our 27J Middle School Athletics.
I appreciate you - take care,
Catherine "Kate" Brown
