A Word from Your Friendly Neighborhood Principal. . .
Parents,
I'd like to start by congratulating Ben Verhey, Khloe Dick, and Marlow Thompson for the tremendous job they did at the LCPS All-County Chorus Concert at Rock Ridge HS on Saturday! Mrs. Denney and all of us here at RHES are incredibly proud of them!!
It was a fun week filled with a couple of field trips and an outstanding Kindergarten Music Program. Nothing brings more joy than to hear a group of kindergartners singing together! Guess what their program was about? Being helpful. . . just like our many, many volunteers! We will plan to share it with all our volunteers during our Field Day Volunteer luncheon! We also completed our SOL testing this week with the exception of some make-ups and re-tests that will be given over the next few days. Thank you for helping to make sure your 3rd-5th graders were here on Tuesday and Thursday.
A special shout-out to our Running Bears who will be competing next week in the Hometown Festival 5K run! They have been working VERY hard to get ready!
Sincerely,
Andrew Davis - Principal

The 19th Annual Round Hill Hometown Festival
The 19th Annual Round Hill Hometown Festival is right around the corner and the Festival committee members are hard at work planning a full day of FREE FAMILY FRIENDLY FUN right in the heart of Round Hill! All your favorite events are back -- the 5k, parade, pie-eating contest, downhill derby, stage entertainment and children's activities -- plus we've added a cornhole tournament in the Town Park!
But we need YOUR help to make May 27 the Best Day of the Year in Round Hill! Volunteers are needed through the day to help set up the park, man the information booth and run all the fun events! Please consider spending an hour or two of your day helping make the day go smoothly. Sign up for a spot (or two!) at
www.signupgenius.com/.../904094fadad2c.../9421274...
Registered volunteers will receive their choice of either a free Vintage Festival T-shirt or $5 off this year's shirt. Shirts will be available at the Town Office the week prior to the Festival or at the Information Table during the event!
For more information on the Festival, visit www.hometownfestival.org and follow the Festival's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/rhhometownfestival/

APRIL GOLDEN BEAR AWARD WINNERS
We are excited to announce our ROUND HILL GOLDEN BEARS for the month! Each month, a student from every classroom is nominated to receive this award. All students chosen for this award model our 3 R’s at Round Hill Elementary - they are Responsible, Respectful, and Ready to learn each and every day!
To celebrate our Round Hill Golden Bears, each student nominated is announced on our Morning News Show. In addition, they will receive a certificate that includes the reasons why their teacher chose them for this award along with a golden bear paw charm.
