Book Drive Success!
With the remaining books, we were able to allow our current students to "shop" for a book. If your child comes home with a gently used book and told you they got it from school, they are correct. Your generosity also allows us to spread the joy of reading within our school community.
October Students of the Month!
Snack Sales During Lunch
We will begin a slow roll out of snacks distribution during lunches starting after the Thanksgiving Break. In order to assess the interest in purchasing snacks and the potential supply and demand shortages, we are going to start by offering snack purchasing 1 day a week to Grades 3, 4, and 5. Each of these grades will have one day a week they can purchase a snack.
- Tuesday-3rd Grade
- Wednesday-4th Grade
- Thursday-5th Grade
Grades 1 and 2 may be able to purchase snacks later in the year. We want to make sure they eat their healthy lunches first. We have found in the past that once snacks are an option for our younger students, they do not eat their lunch to save room for a snack.
The following guidelines are in place for students to purchase a snack.
1. Students must have money in their lunch account to purchase a snack.
2. Snack Possible Options (the items below are just examples and will be offered based on supply and demand) and Cost
- Popcorn/Chips (no pretzels) = .75
- Cookies = .75
- Ice cream sandwich and bars = .85 (Approx 4 flavors)
- Ice cream CONES = 1.00 (possible 2 flavors, vanilla cone, and a mixed cone)
3. We allow 1 snack per day and children are not allowed to buy for a friend.
4. In addition, the items below are offered for purchase daily during their lunch.
- 8oz waters = .75
- Capri Sun juice pouch = .75
5. Snacks will be sold on a 1st come 1st serve basis. It is possible that not all students will have the option to purchase their 1st choice snack if supply is low.
