7th Grade Students Visit the University of Kansas
On Friday, October 13th, our 7th grade scholars were able to meet with members of IHAWKE through the University of Kansas School of Engineering!
Thanks to the IHAWKE leaders, students were able to participate in a mock course in structural engineering, tour the building and learn more about the different majors and other academic opportunities within the school. This was a chance to experience college in a way our students will not soon forget! Thank you so much for hosting us!
Women's Fund
Thank you to The Women’s Fund for having us at your charity event today! 9th-grade scholar Kenslee Young and 8th-grade scholar Kaylee Drews were honored to speak on their inspirations and experiences with female empowerment.
A special thank you also goes out to all of the incredible women in both of these young ladies’ lives who have shaped them into who they are today. We here at College Prep think they are both pretty special.

Washburn Women in Science
Filipino American History Month
We are so thankful to our wonderful school and community members for sharing a little part of their heritage with us in honor of Filipino American History Month.
We were honored to hear from College Prep Academy math instructor Cherryl Delacruz, Special education consulting teacher Evelyn Tradio, and Robinson Middle School 8th Grader Sophia Ellington on their culture and experiences. Students were able to listen to a beautifully sung performance by Sophia as well trying both Lumpia and Bud Bud.
College Prep students are always thankful to have the opportunity to interact with members of our school and community, and this was one of our most special events yet. Thank you so much to all who participated.

TCALC College and Career Fair
On October 19, Topeka Center for Advanced Learning & Careers held its annual College and Career Fair which featured over 100 booths of colleges and career paths from across the Midwest.
Our College Prep 7th and 8th graders as well as any College Prep students who are concurrently enrolled in TCALC pathways were thrilled for the opportunity to participate in the event and find out more about area college and career opportunities.
But don't take our word for it! Hear it from the students themselves!
