Happy Long Weekend!

As you know, we do not have school on Friday (4/10) and Monday (4/13)! Hooray for a four-day weekend! We hope you enjoy the extra time with your family. Please remember that this week's assignments are still due by Sunday (4/12) at midnight! Your student's teacher will send next week's eLesson Plans out on Tuesday morning at 8:30.

Some of our awesome parent volunteers are in the process of collecting photos for the 5th grade End-of-Year slideshow. This is a special tradition that we treasure here at Smith, and we need your help to make it happen! Please read the attached letter from our parent volunteers for more information and let them know if you have any questions!

Smith PTA Book Fair

The PTA along with Scholastic is hosting an ONLINE Book Fair that will run April 6 through April 19.


Orders of $25 or more will ship to the students' home FREE.

Lesson Plans and Assignments

As a reminder, all assignments are due on Sundays at midnight.


Next week's lesson plans will be available TUESDAY at 8:30 a.m.


Lesson plans will be available in multiple locations. We will send them via email (a S'more), post them on our Google Classroom so students can see them, and post them on the Smith website.


We have had several questions about logins. Please note that the most common sites and login information are listed below.

eLearning Reminder

This is a friendly reminder to please encourage your child to showcase his or her own learning through our various eLearning platforms. We want to see students' understanding of the contents we are sharing. Given that providing relevant feedback to our students is one of the most effective ways to support students in making growth, it's important for us to see their authentic work and hear their own thoughts when they share their understanding of concepts. Please do not feel pressured to correct misspellings, edit/revise responses, etc. The information we receive from your child will support us in determining our next steps in providing helpful feedback and instruction.

Accessing various resources, tools, and websites

We want to make sure everyone knows how to log into the various platforms and websites we will be using. Although your children should be familiar with this, we wanted to make sure you have the information as well.

  • A separate email will follow with your child's NEW individual login codes. This is the ONLY login that will be different for them during this time. Your student needs to make sure to use NEW login we provide instead of the one they are used to.

How Teachers Will be Facilitating This Process

Teachers will be available from 9 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 3 pm via email. We will also be providing timely feedback to students in order to support understanding of content. Since this is new for all of us, we will be monitoring and adjusting the lessons if needed. Please let us know if you run into any difficulties with this process so that we can fix it.
