Thank you for your interest in events for all ages at River Valley District Library.
We always have excited programs to keep young and old alike entertained.
Circa '21 Trip
Reminder: We are taking a bus to Circa '21 on Tuesday, July 2nd to go see
The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.
Please be at the library no later than 8:30am on Tuesday morning.
If you are not riding the bus, please meet us at Circa '21 at 9:30am. We will be dispersing tickets at that time.
Unfortunately, there are no more tickets available through the library. If you are still wanting to attend, please contact Circa '21 to purchase a ticket.
The Doubleclicks at RVDL
NASA Ambassador
Friday, July 19th at 6pm
NASA Ambassador Steve Schauer will talk about the Apollo Moon landing, which celebrates it's 50th Anniversary this month.
Steven Schauer is a Solar System Ambassador for NASA
Steve grew up in rural Wisconsin and always had a passion for science and math. He earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Evangel University and eventually a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Iowa. After spending a number of years working in chemical research and teaching at the collegiate level, Steve sought a new challenge, and went back to school for Information Technology. He has spent the last 16 years as a software developer and is currently the Director of Development for a firm in East Moline, IL. Steve lives in Davenport, Iowa with his wife and has two children. In his free time, Steve loves to read and take online courses to continue learning STEM related topics. He also is also a member, along with the rest of his family, of the local Blackhawk Pipes and Drums bagpipe band.
Sensory-Friendly Play Date
Each Tuesday in July from 3-4:30
Every one of the following days, will be designed so every child regardless of level or sensory need can find fun and enjoyment. There will always be an alternate cool down and sensory space for children who need to get away for a few mins before coming back to enjoy the fun!
Kids' Constellation Canvas Art
Part 1: Monday, July 8th at 10-11:30
Join Ms. Cathy for this 2 part class to create your own Constellation Canvas Art.
The first class will be used to prep the canvases and to paint the background.
Part 2: Wednesday, July 17th at 12-1:30
Participants will be painting the constellations and sealing the canvas during this second part.
Registration is required.
Summer Reading Finishing Party
Saturday, July 20th at 10a-12p
Come to the library for games and activities in honor of the end of summer reading. We will be giving out the gift cards and other prizes that have been earned.
