Seas the day
In the coral reef
Think, Innovate, Create
We believe learners will do challenging work when failure is embraced as a valuable part of the learning process and they feel safe and valued.
Cooperative groups create a coral reef
Before beginning the design process, students were asked to get into groups and determine the job of each member. Believe me, when I say, this was the hardest of all the tasks!
Step 1-Read/Research about your coral
Step 2-Illustrate your coral
Step 3-Record facts
Step 4-Design your coral
Step 5-Present to audience
Sounds easy enough, right??
This is hard
Why ask Why?
This is one of my favorites! I encourage you to ask thought-provoking questions and have learners explain their thinking. Asking questions can help scaffold learners to knowledge that they attain, rather than just regurgitating what we say.
why are you cutting toilet paper
Engagement
We believe intellectual growth occurs when learners are genuinely engaged in their learning.
