Sadler Means YWLA

Week of 11/16-11/20

MOY RECAP

Thank you for all of your hard work last week during the MOY testing! All in all, the process went smoothly. We are looking over your feedback forms to see how we can grow and make the process better for everyone.

Now its time to analyze and use our data to target the needs of our students. Let's be dedicated, committed, and laser-focused in communicating with our students and parents, forming tutoring groups, and spiraling missed content in our courses. Let's be creative in our differentiation and be open to trying new things!

LEGACY OF GIVING: Can Food Drive

Dragons- Let's help others who are in need in the month of November! AND let's collect enough cans to see Ms. Benson get a pie in the face! Encourage your students to bring in cans...you can bring them in too! The winning house will be awarded 250 POINTS! (That could be a game-changer, y'all)!

FUNDRAISER: Coupon Book Sales

Tuesday we begin our schoolwide Coupon Book Fundraiser! Students will begin selling these books on November 17th. The fundraiser will go until December 2nd. Let's do out best to encourage our girls to be confident saleswomen. We use this money for field trips, house initiatives, and providing our students things they need. Thanksgiving is the perfect gathering to sell Coupon books to our families!

The winning house will be awarded 250 Points!!!

Field Trips Field Trips Field Trips!

Let's think back on our own school experiences. What stands out at the forefront of your mind? For most of us, its those special events where we get to make connections with our learning and discover new things. I still remember in 3rd grade when we went to a nature preserve and the guide told me that my observations would make me quite the naturalist. That's when I knew I loved Science. Or that college visit to Baylor, where I realized how everyone seemed so hungry to learn...and that the campus lit up with fireflies at night. I knew that's where I wanted to be.

Our goal is to create opportunities for our girls to see outside of the community. We want them to envision a future in which what we teach them can blossom. We want them to find those connections to learning as they explore and dream. That is why we make it a priority to have unique activities where students can construct their worlds.

This week, we will be taking our students to a university, a basketball game where they will learn how to socialize with our brother campus, and a college basketball game where our players can see where their hard work can take them. Thank you for understanding the why behind school activities.

Calendars

This past week, I was asked if the teachers should be looking at the campus calendar. The answer is yes with one caveat. The calendar is dynamic. As we are given tasks and as we are working with outside members of the community, things are prone to change. Knowing this, it is encouraged that you look at the calendar on Monday and Friday during PLC. This will help keep everyone in the know of all the great things that are happening on campus!

In the same vein, please make sure that you are checking your personal outlook calendar as you are being invited to ARDs, meetings, and events that are specific to you.

We're almost at the break!
