November Highlights
Veteran's Day Program - Students in grades K-6 visited the High School campus for our Veteran's Day program. Our 3rd and 4th grade students sang, and the 5th grade class played their recorders as the veterans were escorted into the gym. Thanks to our High School students, along with Mr. Schovajsa, for helping organize the event.
Junior Achievement - First and second grade students participated in the Junior Achievement program this fall! This program continues to expand, as we add grade levels each year. Our Kindergarten class will participate this Spring. Students learned about various topics related to the social studies curriculum for their grade. Thanks to Mrs. Koether for volunteering her time!
A note from Second Grade about Jr. Achievement - Mrs. Walberg: Over the six week period, second grade students learned about communities and how everyone works together. They learned about paying taxes and running a donut shop. My 2nd graders loved it! This was the first year for 2nd graders to be able to participate. All of the lessons and activities went right along with what the students were learning in social studies. 2nd grade would like to thank everyone who was involved in letting this wonderful program come to our class!
Read Across Texas Day - Friday, November 14th, students participated in this statewide event. Students were able to read and take quizzes in order to add to the Texas total. Congratulations students, you helped add to the grand total of over 600,000 books read!
Junk Gypsy Garage Sale - Thanks to the Junk Gypsies and ALL their volunteers for coordinating the garage sale event in support of RT-C ISD! The GRAND TOTAL raised will be announced soon.
Digital Citizenship Week - Students focused on Digital Citizenship the week of November 17th. Visit https://www.commonsensemedia.org/educators/curriculum for more information!
PRE-K Town Visit - Ms. Natalie's Pre-K class visited Pam's Hair Salon for their monthly town visit. Ms. Natalie even got to color her hair just like in the poem that was read - Rainbow Hair! Thanks, again, to the Round Top Family Library for their partnership!
