We had another busy week during our last full week of kindergarten! In math, students compared length and compared height. In science, students learned what magnets do. In social studies, students learned about presidents and patriots. Students turned in their math projects and book reports on Thursday.
*Please remember to purchase or make your child's graduation costume as soon as possible. Your child needs to dress as the occupation he/she chose on the sheet that was recently sent home.
*All students must be at Merryhill on Tuesday, May 30th by 8:15am in normal uniform attire leave for their dress rehearsal. Students will be back from the Bob Duncan Community Center by 11:00am and are dismissed from school any time after that. All students must be at the Bob Duncan Community Center, wearing caps and gowns, at 6:45pm. As a reminder, students should wear their "Sunday best" under their caps and gowns. Parents will take costume pieces backstage and place in chair with your child's name. Graduation will start promptly at 7:00pm with refreshments to follow the ceremony.
*Students are working hard during graduation practice. Please help your child practice reciting his/her lines for the graduation performance on May 30, 2017. Your child should be able to say his/her lines without any help.
*Please help your child practice learning the two songs students will be singing during their graduation performance on May 30, 2017. The songs are "Let Them be Little" by Billy Dean and "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. I sent YouTube links to each of you on Remind.

What's Coming Up Next?
Can you believe next week is the last week of kindergarten? I am enjoying these last days spent with your child. Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to play a role in your child's young life! I have really enjoyed my first year of teaching with your child, and I wish all of your children the best of luck in their future endeavors.
Next week will be very busy as it is our last week together! During the week, we will review topics we have learned throughout the year in kindergarten. There is no school for students on Monday for Memorial Day. On Tuesday, students have Kindergarten Graduation at 7:00pm. On Wednesday, students bring their favorite board games to play at school. On Thursday, students wear their favorite vacation attire (no bathing suits), and we will have our end of the year party and say our goodbyes!
Elementary Field Day
Field Day is Friday, May 26th at Stovall Park. The school will provide lunch for all students at the park. Kona Ice will be available for students to purchase. Please send $2.00 with your child if you want him/her to purchase Kona Ice on Field Day. Our class will go on the bus to the park around 9:15am. All students will be at the park by 10:00am. At 1:00, our class will return to the school. You may take your child with you from the park if you wish to do so, but you must let me know that he/she is leaving with you.
