FWISD K-12 Literacy - March 2021

Dr. Darnisha Carreathers, Executive Director of K-12 Literacy

I am so proud to serve the students and community of Fort Worth as the Executive Director of Literacy! My 19 years of professional experience includes teacher, assistant principal, academic dean, and principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I received my Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education degrees from Texas A & M University-Texarkana and my doctorate of education from Abilene Christian University.

The K-12 Literacy Department is excited to support the district priorities by sharing research on the science of reading and teaching to improve instruction for all students of Fort Worth ISD. Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have questions or concerns.
