the arts are important

Art
The arts are just as important as any other class in school. It is just as significant as math, science, and English. The arts help foster creativity, they help with stress, or anger. It helps people express themselves in ways they probably have never imagined before. And without art what would we have? The world would be bland and boring without an ounce of creativity in us.
Encourages Creativity
The arts encourages your mind to work and really think about how to put things together. It encourages you to bloom as a person and become your own person. It help a person to come up with ideas more easily. Creativity isn't something you can learn for yourself in math or a gym class. It can be taught in finding your own words, you own chords, your own piece of art.
Outlet for Emotions
Art allows people to pour their emotions into a physical form, whether it be on paper, on canvas, on a music sheet, whatever. By being able to articulate the way they feel, people will become better at understanding their emotions. Anger and stress can be poured into an art piece and help cope with these issues. Music is often seen as an outlet for emotions, whether it be the act of actually writing music or listening to music that fits your mood.
Music
Music is a form of art, and without music how dull would our lives be? Without music you would have no catchy pop song to sing with your friends as your drive to get boxes of pizza. You wouldn't have something to lull you to sleep when thoughts clutter your mind. Music evolves with each generation, expressing the relevant problems of the time. Playing an instrument can help with anger management and quiet your mind as you focus on playing a guitar, or drums. Singing helps bring happiness and relieves stress.
Books/Writing
Books are art created with words. Writing helps articulate your words more clearly, especially when speaking doesn't seem to be working. Words flow much more easily without the pressure of actually talking to someone. Along with that it helps with stress and emotions by writing your thoughts onto paper.
Performance Arts
Theatre can help people with their social anxiety with acting. Creativity can be put in the background and sound designs of each play or musical, along with costume designs. Theatre brings all these different aspects of art (music, art, dance, etc.) into one subject in schools. It also brings the people that are working on the play together to form a family and creates new friends.
TV Shows/ Movies
To go along with performance arts, there are TV shows and movies. As much as people drag TV shows and movies for rotting our brains, it also shows the expanse of human creativity and emotion. Special effects make up are used in horror movies, making the most realistic and grotesque creatures. Choreographed fights combine sports and the art of dance to make a fight scene that leaves you breathless with each punch and kick.
Advertisements
It is true, advertisements in any form are probably the bane of anyone's existence. But without art, what would they be? Bland shades of black and white with the same font and no pictures. It wouldn't catch anyone's eyes and then no one would be even remotely interested in the product or event being shown.
Diversity
Art helps us see the diversity in cultures around the world. From the dances of Africa, to the songs in China, it tells a story of each culture. The diversity of these arts in itself help us learn of the world's history. With each art work uncovered beneath the dirt and rock, we learn more about earth's past.
What would we be without art?
Without art, the world would be covered in shades of gray. Clothes would be simple coverings that have no shape or form. Advertisements all use the same font and have no color whatsoever. Music is nonexistent. You would have no song to sing at that top your lungs in anger or sadness. The arts bring color and liveliness to our world and teaches us to be a beautiful community while also being our own unique selves. Art bring sout the beauty in ourselves and nature around us.
