Bulldog Bulletin
Elementary School- May, 1 2023
Hello Honeoye Families!
It's hard to believe we are in the home stretch! Our students continue to learn and grow thanks to the support of this community and our outstanding faculty and staff. I'm so grateful for the Honeoye community and colleagues I get to work with each and every day!
Just a reminder that we will be administering the NYS Math Assessment to students in grades 3-5 on May 3rd and 4th.
Once again, Honeoye is partnering with Healthy Kids to provide before and after school child care for the 2023-2024 school year. If you would like to learn more about the program, please join us for an Open House in the Elementary cafeteria on May 25th from 5:00-6:00pm. The Regional Director will be onsite with all the information you will need, as well as to answer any specific questions you may have. Hope to see you here!
In addition, you should have received a flyer sent home in your child's backpack about the Summer Program that Healthy Kids will be offering. Please take a peek and reach out to the regional director, Madison Moon, at 845-568-6100 x1009 with questions.
As always, thank you Honeoye!

- Math- May 3rd and 4th
It was a busy April for the Elementary Library!
We hosted the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association school visits thanks to the generosity of the Honeoye Valley Association. Lindsey Ayers and Lynne Ocorr from the CLWA came to talk about oviparous animals, the life cycle of frogs, amphibians, planting seeds and Earth Day care, the water cycle, land usage and the community. They even had a watershed in action model for our third graders! So many great conversations were had about taking care of the Earth and the creatures we may find in our neighborhood!
Additionally, the Buy 1, Get 1 Book Fair was a huge success! Special thanks to our volunteers- Nancy Healy, Tim Davis, Joanne Brunk, June Patterson, Dorothy Graziano, Mandi Waringa, and Lisa DePaul, and a few former Library Clubbers in MS/HS who helped make it possible. We raised over $7,000 of FREE items into families hands. While the Fall Book Fair profits Library Club activities and projects, this Spring Book Fair is all about benefiting our community with more books and more fun --- and we enjoy having it just in time to lead up to our Summer Reading Programs with our local public libraries. Keep your eyes open for more details about that coming up in May!
As always, happy reading!
