Good Job Team!
Team Excellence,
We have completed two full weeks of the new school year. Thank you for your undeniable support. I have a fist bump for every parent that has ensured your child arrives to school on time and allows them to remain the full day. If your child is arriving late or leaving early, we need notes from the doctor, dentist, etc.
Parents, we still have school on Mondays and Fridays! Historically, RHE has lower attendance on the first and last day of the school week. WE can change this trend! Do you know that we missed our attendance target in 2018-2019 by 0.5%? Our campus is rated based on our academics and attendance. Help us continue with excellence by bringing students to school Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-3:30 pm.
Early pick-ups also have a negative impact on our attendance rate. If your child does not have an appointment, please refrain from picking them up early in the afternoons. Instruction ends at 3:20 pm each day, and every minute counts. Note that students will not be dismissed early after 3 p.m.
I am grateful that our car drive is running smoothly, thanks to each of you for displaying your dismissal tag! Car drive parents, please refrain from using the daycare/bus lane for afterschool pick up.
For just a moment, think ahead to awards ceremonies that we will have May 2020. What awards do you want your child to earn? What recognition will they receive? Will their name be mentioned multiple times for academics, character, and attendance? The time is now to work towards these achievements. The time is now to set our standard for excellence for student attendance, behavior, and academics.
As we begin to settle into our school routines, I encourage you to ensure your child is reading, every night, for at least 20 minutes. This small task has a huge impact on students' grasp of new vocabulary, as well as reading comprehension. Reading is the foundation of every content area. Our staff has committed to only assigning homework that is meaningful and appropriate. We understand that hours after-school are spent with family or in extra-curricular activities. If your household is busy like mine, you may consider turning off the radio and keeping books in the car to have your scholars read during your commute.

RHE Shoutouts!
Fearless Fridays (neon) are when staff highlight great things students are doing in the building. Congratulations to the staff and students who were recognized.
Afternoon Dismissal Procedures
School is dismissed at 3:30 PM each day.
- Students who are picked up will meet their families in the front of the school. All parents (walk-up and car-drivers) must have a car tag indicating the student's name, teacher and grade level. Pre-K students are picked up at the double doors, near their pod. Ensure that you have a RHE dismissal car tag prior to dismissal.
- Students who take the bus wait in the designated classroom or gym until designated staff escorts them to their bus. Bus routes can be found on www.lancasterisd.org.
- Students who go to daycare will meet in the cafeteria, and wait until the designated staff person escorts them to their van.
- Please, let your child's teacher know the name of the daycare and/or if he/she will ride the bus.
- Students who walk will be escorted out of the building by teachers.
- All RHE students must be picked up no later than 3:45 pm.

School Lunch

Lunch $ 2.40
Lancaster ISD partners with MySchoolBucks. This is an online service for parents to prepay and/or monitor lunch items purchased at school. MySchoolBucks is a convenient option for the parents in our District. It allows parents to access their student’s lunch account online, including deposits into accounts using a credit/debit card and viewing account information. You can say goodbye to the days of wondering how much money is left in the account or what your student is eating for lunch. To begin, go to www.lancasterisd.org and click on the feature button at the top of the website called “Parents/Students.” Then, click on lunch menu to find the pay online feature. Student ID is required. Please, fill out a free/reduced lunch application as soon as possible if you qualify.

Attendance Matters
Important Information
· Safety is our top priority. Be sure you have your photo id, anytime you visit campus. You will be required to check-in at the office and receive a visitor’s pass.
· The front foyer is the designated goodbye station each morning. To ensure student safety, only RHE staff and students will walk the halls during morning intake. Friendly staff members are stationed to greet and escort children to class.
· A dismissal card is mandatory to pick up your child. If you forget your card, please check in at the office, with your photo id.
ATTENDANCE/TARDY
· Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. We understand there are times when children miss school. If your child will be absent, please contact Registrar Ms. L. Smith at 972-218-1528. To maintain an orderly dismissal process, please note that children will not be checked out early after 3 p.m.
PARENT OBSERVATIONS
· We encourage partnerships with parents. Please come by to visit your child’s classroom to witness excellence in action. Parent observations are to last a maximum of 30 minutes. Parents will not interact with teachers or students during the observation time. Be sure to schedule a parent-teacher conference when you need to speak with the teacher.
BIRTHDAYS
· We will recognize students on their birthdays. You are welcome to bring packaged birthday treats for your child and all of their classmates. Birthday treats will be distributed at the end of day. Please contact your teacher to inform them about birthday visits.
DRESS CODE
· PK-5th students wear red, white, or blue collared shirts, tucked into khaki, black or navy bottoms. We will reinforce and remind students of the district dress code. As you prepare for cooler weather, note that appropriate sweaters, sweatshirts, or sweater vests worn inside the building are red, white, blue, or campus/LISD affiliated. Jackets, windbreakers, and coats are to be removed inside the building.
COMMUNICATION
o Grade level information will come home on a weekly or monthly basis, based on the team. Be sure to sign up for your teacher’s Class Dojo or Remind to conveniently receive messages about class.
o RHE Campus newsletter will be shared at the beginning of each month.
