Patriot Elementary Week at a Glance
February 24-28
A Note from the Principal...
Dear Patriot Families,
We made it through our snow days! Thank you for all of your flexibility in rescheduling conferences this last week. It was wonderful to see students sharing their learning with parents, we hope you learned something too.
Please mark your calendar for this THURSDAY, February 27th, 5:00-7:00pm. Patriot will host our annual Family STEM Night including pizza and math and science activities provided by staff and outside vendors. Also, thank you to those who purchased books in our Scholastic Book Fair. Patriot was able to order over 200 books for our school. We have the best parent community! Thank you for your continued support.
As always, if you need anything, have any suggestions, or need information, please stop by!
Kindly,
Mrs. Canon, Principal
A Note from PTO
Dear Patriot Elementary School Family,
I just wanted to send out this quick note of gratitude to all parents who took the time to donate items for our "Hot Dog Bar" for teachers and staff during the Parent Teacher Conference meal on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Through your generous contributions we had more than enough food. The teachers and staff were also very appreciative of the meal that was provided. Thank you for your continued support and please know that it does not go unnoticed!
All the best,
Aliesha Savoy
Patriot PTO President
Please note: The PTO meeting scheduled this month has been cancelled. See you next month!
Congrats Ms. Savoy

PARKING LOT NEWS
- Please pulll all the way up along the back curb when dropping students off in the am. We have many parents stopping and dropping students off and we back up traffic.
- When walking from the front lot, please ensure you use the marked cross walk. The area by the stop sign is not a cross walk and we do not want any students to get hit.
- We ask that parents refrain from stopping in moving traffic lanes to let students enter or exit vehicles.
- Please do not get out of your car to let you child out. If you need to let them out (ie. of a carseat), please wait until you can pull all the way to the front of the line.

District Annual Report
Patriot Elementary Parents – The District 2018-2019 Annual Report is now available! Each year, the Annual Report features highlights and statistics regarding district progress toward goals in the District Strategic Plan. We encourage all parents to take a few minutes to review the ongoing commitment of the district “to prepare today’s youth for tomorrow’s responsibilities.”
Find the Annual Report online at www.ffc8.org/strategicplan.
We appreciate the continued collaboration with community partners, parents, and district staff to meet the priorities identified in the District Strategic Plan over the next few years!

Patriot Guiding Principles
These four cornerstones promote mutual understanding and shared responsibility for the vision of excellence at Patriot Elementary School
Academic Excellence focused on the individual needs of each student, accomplished through clear, high expectations supported with excellent instruction and learning opportunities. Students will become responsible learners and held accountable for their academic accomplishments. Pride in achievement and the joy of learning are evident.
Professional Excellence demonstrated by our educators through ongoing and advanced study. Expertise, integrity, respect, and passion acknowledged and shared. As a result, our children receive the benefits of best classroom practices and a safe, caring school environment.
Social/Emotional Climate is positive and caring with the expectation of behavior that demonstrates respect, responsibility, fair treatment, and safety for all. This results in strong self-esteem for our children and a welcoming environment for our community. Patriot will develop a culture of trust and collaboration by enhancing social emotional skills in order to develop an academic mindset for success and a highly effective school.
Community Partnership driven by open communication between staff members, students, parents, and the community. There are varieties of opportunities for parent and community involvement, which serve to further enrich our children. The spirit of volunteerism and community support are constants in the life of our school.
