Hybrid Learning Plan

Park View Families -

You received information this week regarding our move to hybrid learning. The hybrid plan is part of our "Return To Learn" plan where we bring our students back slowly in combination with remote. Early next week, you will be receiving more detailed information about this plan from the district. Please read it very carefully. It will have more details regarding what the hybrid plan will look like. After you read the plan, you will be asked to fill out a survey indicating if you are planning on sending your child(ren) to school, or if you will opt to continue remote learning only. It is very important that we receive your survey results so we can plan accordingly. The plan will be explained in more detail so you can make an informed decision next week.

In the meantime, I am working hard here at Park View preparing the building for this next phase. After you read the plan, please email me if there are any question you need answered for you to make your decision and fill out the survey. Safety is my number one priority.

Challenges & Silver Linings

I know these last seven months have been strange and difficult as we have had to change so many things in our lives due to the pandemic. I have talked with many of you about the challenges and silver linings during this time and I have experienced many of these with you. Things like taking care of elderly parents, not being able to be with my children, dealing with health challenges in my family during a pandemic, missing important events such as births and deaths, being isolated in a house & school that is too quiet, and missing the students desperately have all taken an emotional toll, but there are also some silver linings. Finding joy in cooking meals again because I can't go to a restaurant, working on house projects that probably should have been done years ago, spending some quality time with my husband (and dog - Wally), writing letters to my friends and relatives that I cannot see, and not rushing from place to place has brought some joy that I would have never experienced without being forced to stay close to home & work.

I hope you too can take some time to see the silver linings and to know that when this is over; whether we choose to look back on this time and remember it, or wipe it from our memories, it has changed us in many ways and possibly given us appreciation for things that, before the pandemic, were not even thought about. My own character is not built during the good times for those times are so easy. My character is built during these times when each turn presents a challenge I must meet to the best of my ability. I hope this journey does the same for you. I look forward to this next step in our "Return To Learn" plan because I truly miss our PV community.

Pre-School Screening in District #44

If you know anyone that has a pre-schooler, please share the flyer below. It is important that all pre-schoolers are screened so we can provide services if needed. Early intervention makes a difference in the life of a child.

Attendance Line

Please remember if your child is not going to be at school even during remote learning you need to call the attendance line at 630-827-4041. Leave a message to let us know the reason for the absence. If your child is ill, please leave their symptoms as the school nurse may call you back. She can also support you if you need information on what to do if your child, or a family member is presenting with symptoms that could be COVID related.

PTA Scavenger Hunt

Are you up for some fun!! Our awesome PTA has a great event coming up, the PTA scavenger hunt. Please click this link for more information about how join. Even during the challenge of social distancing, our PTA is offering creative events we can participate in as a school community.
