Performance Evaluation for Alaska Schools (PEAKS) ASSESSMENT
This assessment will up us know if students are college or career ready based on the standards set at each grade level. It will provide us a snap shot on what skills our students know and do well at and what skills our students may need additional work in.
Please have your students to school on time, well rested and fed so that they may perform to the best of their ability.
Early Dismissal
Musk Ox Families,
Please note, the office will not make phone calls to the classroom to get kids early between 3:30 and 3:40 unless there is an emergency. Teachers are getting students prepped to go home at this time and it's very disruptive to pull kids.
Please note that students are learning up to the end of the day and students are missing out on important instruction when they're taken from school early. This holds true for specials as well as our core content.
Thank you for your understanding.
~Mrs. Dowd

REMINDERS: Student Drop Off and Pick Up
Please pick up your students up from school on time. Our teachers need to use their time after school preparing for the next day. Please be respectful of their time so they can be ready for your students each and every day.
Student Drop-Off : Drop off time- No earlier than 9AM
Parent Pick up: 3:50 pm in the classrooms
Please utilize the drop off lane if you do not want to park and walk your students into the school. The parking lot is not a safe place to allow students to walk without an adult. The fire lane in the parking lot is not a drop off zone. Please do not drop your students off there. We had a few incidences with students almost getting hit by cars backing up and not seeing our students. Your student's safety is our #1 priority!
School Dismissal Manager
If your child's normal pick up routine is changing for the day, please log into your school dismissal account and let the office and Ms. Terry know this way. At the end of the day the teachers get an email notification of any changes that take place. Please do not email teachers directly of these changes. If a teacher or mIss Terry is out one day and you emailed them not using the school dismissal system their substitute teacher will not know of this change. If you did not put it in school dismissal manager, teachers and Miss Terry may not know of this change as many of the teachers do not check their email regularly during the day while they are teaching. Your help is greatly appreciated. Using School Dismissal Manager is extremely helpful to your classroom teacher and the front office.
Over the past month we have on average about 20-25 changes daily in students end of day routine. This is 20-25 phone calls to the office that did not take place because parents used School Dismissal manager. It works and once you have used it, you will find it is very convenient.
If you need help accessing your account please call Miss Terry in the office. She will be happy to help you.
If your child has a doctor appointment and needs to be picked up early, you do not need to let the office know of this change in school dismissal. We will call your child to the office once you arrive to the school to pick them up. Please take into account it takes a few minutes for your child to be located as they are not always in their classrooms when you arrive so arrive a few minutes early to pick up your child. We cannot have students called out of class until you arrive at the school to sign them out.
Guest teachers needed:
Lost and Found
There are many items that accumulate on a daily basis. All students are encouraged to double check to make sure their coat, hat, boots, or gloves are not left behind and to check the lost and found benches when something is missing. Items are donated quarterly to local charities throughout the year as we do not have space to store all of the items that are found throughout the year.
Do you Shop or Eat at...
Red Robin? You can register for their rewards program and then go online and register your card with Machetanz. Each time you eat there we will receive a small portion of your sales as well.
Fred Meyer? Do you have a Fred Meyer Card? You can also register it and a portion of your spending can benefit Machetanz. After the June 2016 customer re-enrollment period customers who did not re-link their card with a nonprofit on Community Rewards were dropped from the system on July 1. If you have linked your card in the past to support Machetanz it may not be currently linked. Please take the time to re-link your card so that we can benefit from Fred Meyer's community reward program. Follow this link to link or rel-ink your card today! https://www.fredmeyer.com/topic/community-rewards-4
All you have to do is register your cards and Machetanz can benefit. It takes a few minutes of your time initially. After that all you have to do is shop or eat.
