What is an Abolitionist?
a person who advocated or supported the abolition, end, of slavery in the U.S.
Abolitionist movement to free African Americans from slavery arose in the 1820's.
The mainleader was a white, radical man by the name of Lloyd Garrison.

Temperance
The temperance movement was thought upon to reduce: -the use of alcoholic beverages
-alcohol linked sicknesses
-poverty
-domestic violence
Education
Reformers wanted to improve the public school systems by:
-Improving the curriculum
-etsablish teacher training programs
-double the income that Massachusetts uses towards schools
Women's Rights

Citizens for Prison Reform
Citizens for Prison Reform is asking families and advocates who have an incarcerated loved one to join us for our 4th Legislative Education Day on Thursday April 30th in the Capitol building. Trainings and information on sharing with your legislators will be provided in March and April at the monthly CPR meeting.
