Learning to Code

What is JavaScript?

JavaScript is a computer programming language commonly used to create interactive effects within web browsers. JavaScript is one of the most popular tools in the Web developer's arsenal. It was developed by Netscape to allow web authors to design interactive sites. JavaScript means source code. This means JavaScript functions can run after a webpage has loaded without communicating with the server.

Java is an OOP (object-oriented programming) language, while JavaScript is an OOP scripting language. Java creates applications that run in a virtual machine or browser while JavaScript code is run on a browser only. Java code needs to be organized while JavaScript code are all in text.

Technically, web browsers can control what users see, and sites using Javascript can overwrite anything coming from the original authors. Browsers heavily utilize Javascript to create an interactive Internet; sites like YouTube, Facebook, and Gmail could be crippled without it .- BEN SHAPIRO
