Spotlight on Kayla Graduating Class of 2005

Kayla started at Montini when she was 3 years old in the Little Angels Pre-School program. She continued all the way through her 8th grade year, graduating in 2005.

Her favorite memories of Montini include track-a-thons, Chilly Willy Wednesdays, special lunches, gym jams, and the many amazing teachers and friendships made throughout the years. Kayla attended Marian Central Catholic High School and went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Rockford College where she graduated in 2013. Upon graduating, she worked in the Pediatric ICU at Rockford Memorial Hospital and is now a nurse for pediatric neurology at Advocate Children’s Hospital. Kayla married her husband Zach on July 11, 2015. They currently live in Woodstock, IL where they purchased their first home. Since they got married, they have traveled to destinations including London, Ireland, the Caribbean, Colorado, and South Carolina. They have an Australian Labradoodle named “Hershey” and are expecting their first child this summer. Kayla plans to return to school this fall and complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice with Rush University as a clinical nurse specialist. Kayla is very thankful to her parents for making the decision and sacrifice to send both her, and her brother Cody, to Montini Catholic School.

STEM-Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math

Have you heard about our new and exciting engineering program?

This year's focus is to expose students to an engineering curriculum that emphasizes problem solving skills and team building challenges. Students will be using the Engineering Design Process to complete projects, which involves asking questions, understanding and following criteria and constraints, brainstorming ideas, designing solutions, building models, testing models, redesigning, modifying models, etc. The Engineering Design Process is designed to help students understand how engineers solve problems, deal with failure, and continually improve everything around us!
